The type of food that provide fuel and help us ‘go’ and be active; It gives our muscles fuel to run, swim, jump, cycle, and our brain fuel to concentrate.
examples: bread, rice, pasta, and potato.
Go Foods
Foods that help our body grow bigger and stronger. It helps build our body’s bones, teeth, and muscles; keep our brain bright and focused
examples: chicken, meat, fish, eggs, cheese, and yogurt.
Grow Foods
Foods that are full of vitamins and minerals to keep our skin, hair, and eyes bright and glowing; keep our immune systems strong so that we can fight bugs and viruses.
examples: fruits and vegetables
Glow Foods
It is a graphical pyramid-shaped nutrition guide, divided into sections. Each section represents a specific food group and shows the recommended intake for each food group.

TYPE OF FOOD
-Type of macronutrient found in certain foods and drinks. Sugars, starches, and fibers are included in this type of food.
-It contributes to weight gain and increases the risk of some diseases.
Carbohydrates
They provide vitamins and minerals; It takes your body longer to break down complex carbohydrates and as a result, the blood sugar levels remain stable and fullness lasts longer.
-Included in beans and legumes, fruits (apples, berries, and melons),whole-grain products, and vegetables (corn, peas, and potatoes).
Starches

-One of the most important minerals for your body. It is mostly found in red blood cells (RBCs). It is needed for the body to produce hemoglobin, which helps the RCBs carry oxygen throughout the body.
Iron
TYPE OF FOOD
-It is a complex healthy carbohydrate. It regulates blood sugar, lowers cholesterol, and keeps you feeling full longer.
-it is part of plant-based foods your body can’t digest or absorb.
Fiber
TYPE OF FOOD
-It is an electrolyte that the body needs to stay healthy. It can manage blood pressure by reducing the negative impact of sodium.
Potassium
TYPE OF FOOD
-A nutrient that all living organisms need; It is the most abundant mineral in the body; It makes up much of the structure of bones and teeth and allows normal bodily movement by keeping tissue rigid, strong, and flexible.

-It is considered the building block of life and is found in every cell of the body. It is made up of amino acids that are attached to one another in long chains.
-It protects the body from viruses and bacteria
-Promoting proper growth and development
-Repair and make new cells
-Transporting molecules throughout the body
Protein
These foods are located at the top section of the food pyramid, foods that you should only eat in small portions and not eat every day.
Foods high in fat, sugar, and salt
Food categories you should eat the most every day; located at the bottom part of the food pyramid
fruits, vegetables, and salad
Foods you eat 3-5 servings a day; most of the foods are high in carbohydrates.
