  • Online storage is saving your data on server thats on the internet
  • Cloud computing is using your web browser to access programs that run on a server on the internet

Backing up

A
  • Making a copy of data in case something happens to the original
  • Backing up must be quick and easy otherwise people will put it off
  • Must be in a different location from the original
  • Can be done on a flash drive, online, hard drive, or CD/DVD
  • If there isnt enough space on HDD for backup, you can use software that compresses data and compares whats in the backup to whats in the storage

Processing

  • Motherboard: large circuit board that all components plug into to communicate
  • CPU: Processor measured in GHz. Dual core, quad core(refer to how many CPUs are plugged in). If theres more than 1 then they split the processing
  • RAM: Gives CPU instructions, gets instructions from storage
  • ROM: Holds instructions for basic start up of computer. During booting, instructions are sent to CPU
