How can you make establishing a sense of trust, mutual respect and understanding a park of the project kick-off.
Host a team meeting in conjunction with the teams who need to seamlessly work together and work out the Ground Rules. Everyone gets to vote, and everyone has to agree to support the consensus.
Include people, get buy-in and consensus which builds trust, shared responsibility and mutual respect early in the process.
As new people are brought into the team, how do you share the Ground Rules and ensure that everyone’s ideas are aligned.
Remember to create shared ownership over your Projects Culture. Ask for a volunteer from the project team to work with each new person who joins so they have personal guide to expalin the ground rules. This ensures there’s a single voice.
What is the best way to show your team that you support the Ground Rules and expect them to follow them as well.
Remember Servant Leadership; Model the ground rules myself. This doesn’t just mean obeying them but also calling myself and other out when they are wrong.
A violation of the Ground Rules has been made public. How should you handle this?
Be serious and reasonable. Meet with the supervisors of both employees to find out what happened and why. I’ll ask them to come up with an appropriate disciplinary action that will be the same for all people involved and ensure that it’s fair and appropriate.
