Define Unity of Effort
Coordination, and cooperation toward common objectives, even if the participants are not necessarily part of the same command or organization, which is the product of successful unified action.
Define Unified Action
The synchronization, coordination, and/or integration of the activities of governmental and nongovernmental entities with military operations to achieve unity of effort.
Define a Comprehensive Approach
An approach that integrates the cooperative efforts of the departments and agencies of the United States Government, intergovernmental and nongovernmental organizations, multinational partners, and private sector entities to achieve unity of effort toward a shared goal. (JIIM)
Define Joint
Connotes activities, operations, organizations, etc., in which elements of two or more Military Departments participate. (Army, Navy, Marines, or Air Force)
Define Interagency
Of or pertaining to United States Government agencies and departments, including the Department of Defense. (DOJ, DOD, DEA, etc…)
Define Intergovernmental
An organization created by a formal agreement between two or more governments on a global, regional, or functional basis to protect and promote national interests shared by member states. (UN, NATO, ISAF, etc…)

A force composed of military elements of nations who have formed
an alliance or coalition for some specific purpose.
