What is a campaign plan?

What is a operation plan?
Any plan for the conduct of military operations prepared in response to actual and potential contingencies (FM 6-0 C-14)
What is a supporting plan?
an operation plan prepared by a supporting commander, a subordinate commander, or an agency to satisfy the requests or requirements of the supported commander’s plan(FM 6-0 C-15)
What is a concept plan?
an operation plan in an abbreviated format that may require considerable expansion or alteration to convert it into a complete operation plan (FM 6-0 C-16)
What is a branch plan?
the contingency options built into the base plan used for changing the mission, orientation, or direction of movement of a force to aid success of the operation (FM 6-0 C-17)
What is a sequel plan?
the subsequent major operation or phase based on the possible outcomes (success, stalemate, or defeat) (FM 6-0 C-18)
What is a FRAGO?
abbreviated form of an operation order issued as needed after an operation order to change or modify that order (FM 6-0 C-20)
What is a WARNO?
preliminary notice of an order or action that is to follow to allow for preliminary preparation (FM 6-0 C-21)
What is an OPORD
Effect the coordinated execution of an operation (FM 6-0 C-22)
What does the situation paragraph describe?
describes the conditions of the operational environment that impact operations
What does the mission paragraph describe?
State the unit’s mission—a short description of the who, what (task), when, where, and why
What does the execution paragraph describe?
Describe how the commander intends to accomplish the mission
What does the sustainment paragraph describe?
Describe the concept of sustainment, including priorities of sustainment by unit or area (logistics, personnel, health service support)
What does the command and signal paragraph describe?
Location of commander, succession of command, and location of command posts
How should acronyms be used?

How is time expressed?

What attachments are used in orders?

Who oversees the production of orders?
The Commander
Prior to the commander approving the plan or order, what must staff do?
ensures the plan or order is internally consistent and is nested with the higher commander’s intent (FM 6-0 9-190)
What is a plan/order reconciliation?
staff conducts a detailed review of the entire plan or order and identifies discrepancies or gaps in planning(FM 6-0 9-191)
What is a plan/order crosswalk?
staff compares the plan or order with that of the higher
and adjacent commanders to ensure the plan meets the superior commander’s intent (FM 6-0 9-192)

What is the purpose of staff officers?
The commander’s principal assistants who advise, plan, and coordinate actions within their area of expertise or a warfighting function (FM 6-0 2-36)
Who is the Chief of Staff and what is his function?
The COS/XO frees the commander from routine details of staff operations and the management of the headquarters

Intelligence: responsible for providing intelligence to support current and future operations and plans (FM 6-0 2-44)
What is the G3/S3 Section
Operations: responsible for all matters concerning training, operations and plans, and force development and modernization (FM 6-0 2-46)

Logistics: sustainment plans and operations, supply, maintenance, transportation, services, and operational contract support (FM 6-0 2-55)

Planning: planning operations for the mid- to long-range planning horizons at division echelon and higher (FM 6-0 2-63)

IT: data management, network operations, network transport, information services (FM 6-0 2-66)
