What are mock juries?
A
Mock juries → made up of a group of participants who are made to consider a case and make judgement about it. → participants take part in a staged trial which takes part in a re-enactment of courtroom. Each participants takes a role. → jury will then hear a summary of both sides of a case with evidence shown for both sides, either written scenario or video clip → the jury will discuss the case in a separate room and this last typically 2 hours

What are strengths of mock juries?
A
- Mock trail method is more ethical and practical.
- application to real- life as they are useful for researching variables that may influence the jury decision

What are weaknesses of mock juries?
A
- shorter than actual trails - difficult to generalize findings
- involves participants receiving evidence in forms of transcripts, audio or video recordings. This is not effective of how a real life jury would receive evidence from witness in a courtroom
