MK 16 EP's Flashcards
Alternating Red/Green Other than Transition: 2 Sensors 1.15 to 1.45, 3 sensor +1.45 or -1.15
Sensor out of limits, ensure at least 2 sensors within 1.15-1.45 ata, continue dive.
Alternating Red/Green Other than Transition: All 3 sensors 1.15 to 1.45
Low primary battery, Use secondary display to monitor, terminate dive
Flashing Green (other than descent) : 2 more 02 sensors +1.45
High 02PP, Monitor secondary, close 02, manually add 02 to maintain 1.15-1.45 terminate dive.
Flashing red (other than descent) : 2 or more sensors - than 1.15
Low 02, Water intrusion in the scrubber, Monitor both displays, manually add to maintain between 1.15-1.45, using highest pp02, terminate dive.
Flashing red (other than descent) : Low 02 PP, Low 02 bottle pressure
Monitor secondary, add diluent to maintain .16, breath open circuit, terminate dive.
No Primary display: Dropping secondary display readings
Primary Electronics Failure (PEA), Monitor Secondary, manually maintain 1.15-1.45, abort dive.
No Primary display: Stable secondary display readings
Primary Display/Cable Failure. Monitor Secondary, maintain 1.15-1.45, with 02 or diluent, abort dive.
No Primary display: Increasing secondary display readings
PEA Failure, Monitor secondary, close 02 bottle manually add to maintain 1.15-1.45, abort dive.
No Gas addition: 02 valve is depressed
02 bypass failed/bottle closed - empty, Monitor secondary, add diluent to maintain .16 ata switch to open circuit, abort.
No Gas addition: Diluent bypass failed, closed/empty
Monitor secondary, stay on closed circuit, abort
Continuous gas venting:Hear or feel gas escaping from MK16 02 leak
02/diluent bypass/addition failed or stuck open. MSD Close both bottles check indicators. 02 continues to drop keep closed open diluent manually drive adding 02 as required to maintain 1.15-1.45 abort dive.
Continuous gas venting:Hear or feel gas escaping from MK16 diluent leak
Diluent indicator drops leave closed, open 02, use diluent as needed fro volume makeup as required, abort dive.
Inhalation difficulty
Insufficient gas in breathing loop, MSD, add diluent until diaphragm vents on exhalation. continue dive.
Increased breathing resistance: gurgling/decreased buoyancy
Leak in recirculation system/pneumatics, Head up attitude, add diluent to force water out through dump, breathe open circuit, abort dive.
Complete rig flood out: water filled breathing loop
Leak in recirculation system/pneumatics, Head up attitude, add diluent to force water out through dump, breathe open circuit, abort dive.
