How to approach ptn with Diverticulitis?

A

Give antibiotics as cipro or levofloxacin + metronidazole
Set him up for future follow up
If hypotensive or tachycardic I should give IV bolus
Afterwards basic labs should be done as:
CBC, Chem 7, urinalysis & lactate to exclude kidney stones
Give tylenol or ibuprofen for pain
Do Abd. CT scan
