mitosis Flashcards
prophase
DNA condense and super coil
nuclear envelop dissolves
centrioles move towards the poles of the cell
spindle fibres start to form from the centrioles
metaphase
the chromosomes align themselves at the centre of the cell
spindle fibres attach to the centromere
anaphase
the spindle fibres pull them apart by the centromere
the motor proteins pull them along the centrioles
the chromosomes will assume a V shape
telophase
the the separated chromosomes will reach poles
a nuclear envelope will form around each new set
cytokinesis
the plasma membrane will fold inwards to nips the cytoplasm
result
two new daughter cells are now formed which are genetically identical to each other and to the parent cell
