Difference between centrioles and centromere

A

Centriole: organelle responsible for creating spindle fibres
Centromere: is where 2 chromatids of a chromosome are held together

Why do chromatin wind up during cell division? What is this called?

A

DNA. DNA needs to be coiled up as it is very long, otherwise it will get tangled

If people are given Vincristine, why will they have a reduced number of red blood cells?

A

Red blood cells are made in red bone marrow from actively dividing cells. When the cells from which red blood cells are made, are hindered. It will result in less red blood cells being produced
