What are Backyard Bowls’ Core Four?
The “Core Four” are the foundational items on which the culture at Backyard Bowls is built on, with our guests and our team members.
1: Make Eye Contact
2: Smile
3: Speak Enthusiastically
4: Stay Connected
Core Four 1. Make Eye Contact
Until we make eye contact, we can’t connect with someone and we will not be able to fully communicate anything. If we can’t connect, we can’t communicate.
Core Four 2. Smile
Just a smile can make someone’s day in a huge way. A real smile will lift your spirits up and anyone who sees you smile.
Core Four 3. Speak Enthusiastically
So much of our communication is not in the words we use but in our tone of voice, body language, facial expressions, etc. Yet, speaking enthusiastically is a wonderful way to communicate joy, happiness, and a genuine interest in the customer.
Core Four 5. Stay Connected
This means build relationships with customers. It’s bot about selling açaí bowls but making a difference in someone’s life as they experience Backyard Bowls. BYP values the relationships and the positive influence we can have when we build a relationship. Until we build a relationship with someone, we are not able to lead them or influence them at a high level. Connecting with someone is critical leadership that we can all improve on. It takes energy to connect and we must always be willing to be the first person to make that connection.
