Members are to immediately investigate any report of a missing person.

When does the missing person case become the responsibility of the CIU?
A
When there is a reasonable suspicion of foul play - falls within category 1 or 2.

A
A suspicious disappearance or unidentified remains - probable homicide

A
Suspicious disappearance
Long term missing person (more than 30 days)
Unidentified remains (remains unidentified after 3 days)
