On Upper ECAM, look for ____ on Lower ECAM
- N2 increase
- Start valve inline
- Bleed Px green
- Oil Px Incr
- At ~18% N2
- FF increases
- Ignitition indicated (A or B)
- 20 sec max (after fuel is on)
- EGT increases
- Prior to 48% N2
- N1 increases
- At ~55% N2
- Start valvle closes
- Igniter indication off
Idle Indications
Engine Idle Parameters
- N1: ~19%
- N2: ~59%
- EGT: ~550°C
- FF: ~ 600 lb/h
(At ISA SL)
AP use with Abnormal Flap/Slat Configurations
- NLT 500 ft AAL
Adverse Weather Limitations:
- Reduced Thrust TO
- Braking action
- Contamination Level
- HAL FOM
- Red Thrust TO prohibited on contaminated runways
- TO prohibited when braking action is reported as NIL
- TO prohibited when contamination exceeds Level 3
- No HAL TO with:
- > 1/2 in standing water
- > 3” dry snow
- chunks of hardened snow or ice
- RCAM of 0 or NIL
Fuel Imbalance trigger:
800 lbs - start looking at charts
Low Oxygen trigger:
800 psi start looking at charts
Oil overservice trigger:
> 20 qt start paying attn

“ECAM Dance”
- While “in” and ECAM or QRH, PF has controls and comms:
Memory Items, OEBs
PF: “ECAM Actions”
PM: Read ECAM title, and actions….”Clear ________?”
PF: “Clear ________.”
repeat as necessary
PM: “Clear [System]?”
PF: “Clear [System].”
repeat as necessary
PM: “Status?”
PF: “Hold ECAM.”
PM: “Hold ECAM.”
Any checklists, resets, restarts?”
If not
PF: “Continue ECAM”
PM: “Status…..”; “Inop systems…..”; “ECAM actions complete.”
Assess, Decide, Inform
Engine Failure after V1
PM: Announce “Engine Failure”; cancel Master Caution
PF: Rotate to 12.5 deg and follow SRS
PM: “Positive Climb”
PF: “Gear Up”; apply rudder input to center beta tgt, then trim out rudder pressure (15-18 deg), follow FD and engage AP
Once appr flight path est and > 400’ AGL,
PF: “ECAM Actions”
- Thrust levers should be moved by PF
- TLs, Engine Master sw, and FIRE pbs must be confirmed by both pilots
When engine secured
PF: “Stop ECAM” At acceleration altitude, push V/S to level off. (Delay accel for Eng sec, but do not climb above accel alt)
PM: Clean up aircraft at acceleration altitude.
PF: “Continue ECAM”
PF/PM: continue ECAM dance
Engine Secure
No damage: Engine Master switch - OFF
with Damage, no fire: AGENT 1 DISCH
Indications of fire: Fire extinguished or AGENT 2 DISCH
Min Battery Voltage on Prelim Cockpit Check
25.5V
