Misc Flashcards
What are neutrophils?
They are WBC which either increase or decrease due to infection
What is the pathogenesis of ITP?
What is coagulopathy? Signs and symptoms?
What is thrombocytopenia? Signs and symptoms?
What does thromboxane do?
causes vasoconstriction and enhances platelet aggregation
What does aspirin do to the body?
it is. a blood thinner that inhibits the formation of thomboxane by blocking COX pathway in the arachidonic acid pathway
What does the GP 2b/3a receptor do?
It is the main receptor responsible for platelet aggregation (clustering)
What does abciximab do?
It prevents platelet aggregation by binding to the GP 2b/3a receptor, thus preventing it from binding to adhesive proteins
What is pathogenesis of sickle cell crisis
what is normocytic anemia (anemia of chronic disease)
what is iron deficiency anemia
t cell numbers dont decrease with age
