Mind bending language Flashcards

1
Q

How does mind bending language work?

A

MBL affects the way that the mind percieves things, by targeting the apriori processes of the mind. It stretches perception in a way that it can never go back to its original dimensions.

Q

What is the PCAT formual?

A

A formula for persuasion or problem solving. It is used to help somone thing differently about a problem.

  1. Problem - start by talking about the problem
  2. Critical Factor Bypass -Use MBL to overload the CF.

recap, in the persons own words what they said the problem was, and get agreement with a tag quesion, “is that right?” then deliver the MBL

eg. “Ok, so you think it is too expensive, because wanted to spend 10 dollars and get all this extra benefit, is that right?”, “So to the extent that you are paying less, what makes you think you will get more?”

  1. Access Resources - Reframe by offering a different
    perspetive
  2. Transform - Get the person to look at the same problem again, but from the new perspective

eg. “When you look at it this way, how much easier is it
to …”
