Obedience is a form of social influence in which an individual follows a direct order
What did Milgram want to answer?
Why so many people had followed the orders of Hitler and killed over 10 million Jews, Gypsies and members of other social groups during WW2
What was the aim of Milgrams study?
To see if people would obey the orders of an authority, even when there were fatal consequenses.

All of the real pps went to at least 300 volts and 65% continued untill the full 450 volts.

Pps were asked to administer an eletric shock to another pp (who was actually a confederate) upon incorrectly pairing words.
