The topic (obedience)
both studies were about obedience to commit immoral acts from higher authority figures however milgrams study involved direct orders of physical violence whereas bocchiaro were concerned with more everyday situations in which people comply with unethical instructions
In addition bocchiaro was also interested in whistle blowing in addition to obedience and disobedience
research method
both lab experiments with one condition

both used volunteer sampling method which was responses to an advert however milgrams advert was placed in a newspaper whereas bocchiaros advert was placed in a student cafeteria
MIlgram used all male ages ranging from 20-50 from variety of occupations whereas Bocchiaro used mixed sex sample with only undergraduate students with smaller age range

both collected quantitative data on rates of obedience. For milgram it was the number of people giving the full 450V shock and for bocchiaro it was the number of people who wrote a message to persuade students to take part in a sensory deprivation task
