A guild is a group of merchants or craftsmen of the same skill. They tried to help their members by controlling prices and make sure they had good working conditions. Wanted FAIRNESS.

The feudal system was the exchanging of land in return for protection, food, and shelter. (Like a gov’t)
Why did the feudal system develop during the Middle Ages?
It mainly started because nobles needed soldiers to defend their land. Knights and vassals were hired to protect the land and were also paid with pieces of land. This system of bartering or trading helped manors become self-sufficient and was at heart of castle life.
Who benefits the most from the feudal system?
I think the peasants benefited most from the feudal system because they get protection from the king and then gets to work the land. They also do all the work.
