Microscopy Flashcards
1
Q
What do light microscopes have?
A
2 lenses- objective and eye piece
Usually illuminated from underneath
Maximisation of x2000
Resolution power of 200nm
Used to see tissues, cells and large sub-cellular structures
2
Q
What does electron microscopes have?
A
Deep inside sub cellular structures
Electrons are used to form an image
2 types: scanning electron microscope creates 3D images, Transmission electron microscope creates 2D images
Magnification of up to x2000000 and a resolving power of 10nm and 0.2nm
3
Q
Magnification of a light microscope
A
Magnification of the eyepiece lens x magnification of the objective lens
4
Q
How to find size of an object?
A
Size of image/ magnification
