What happens in lag phase?
A
Bacteria do not reproduce as they adjust to their new environment. The bacteria may increase in size during this phase

What happens in log phase?
A
During log phase bacteria divide and the population grows exponentially via as they have access to plenty of nutrients.

What happens in stationary phase?
A
The bacteria divide at the same rate as they die, nutrients are not as plentiful as in lag phase and there is less space

A
The population diesdue to inadequate nutrition, waste accumulation and other factors
