What are some generic who points?

A

-Access’s- difficult to accses
-Confidentiality/safeguardings- DBS checks
-Research characteristics- may not have correct features to reaserch e.g. age
-Teacher and pupil time, teacher may need to plan lessons and children take learning time away
-Parents- parental concent
-Reputation- schools may not let you in incase of damage reputation
-Attendance, if not all class is there
-Home factors- may influence their mood
-Lesson time or breaks, children may be distracted, can’t just follow children around at break time
-Age of pupils, may be two young to observe
-Don’t look at outside if school
-Just becysde it happens at school doesn’t mean it will happen in another

Anti school subcultures- may avoid you, low attendance, reputation, may be low in set so impact on learning
School admission procedures- certain sample, confidential
Ethnic minority pupils- reasercher characteristics and language barriers
Labelling in school- Hawthorne effect
Parental interest- some parents don’t care about education
Exam entry data- how do teachers hers decide this, data protection issues
Bullying- people may stop behaviour and reputation
Boys underachievement- female reasercher
Culture capital- lower class may be anti school subculture meaning low attendance, reaserch may have this so bias
