Methods 4 Comp Eval #4 Flashcards
Side Posture Hypothenar Mammillary Push, Closed-wedge side
-Used for: Lumbar Lateral Flexion Restriction (MP Inferior) AND/OR Lumbar Rotation (MP Posterior)
-Doctor Position: Modified fencer on side of n
-LOD: P-A/I-S (Use lumbar roll for lateral flexion)
Side Posture Hypothenar Mammillary Push, Open-wedge side
-Used for: Lumbar lateral flexion restriction (MP Superior) and/or Lumbar rotation (MP Posterior)
-DP: Modified fencer on side of dysfunction
-LOD: P-A, L-M, S-I (Lower thoracolumbar sectoin or place pt’s down arm cephlad for LF)
Side Posture Hypothenar Spinous Push (Extension/Flexion)
-Used for Lumbar Extension (IS decreased) or Lumbar flexion (IS increased)
-LOD: Extension (P-A/I-S) on superior segment to open OR Flexion (P-A/I-S) on inferior segment to close
Side Posture Hypothenar Sacral Apex Push
-Used for: Lumbar extension at L5/S1
-LOD: P-A, S-I
Side Posture Hypothenar Spinous Push (Rotation/IL LF)
-Used w/: Lumbar rotation restriction (MP posterior) AND/OR Lumbar rotation and IL Lateral Flexion Restriction
-DP: Modified fencer on side opposite of dysfunction
-CH: Hypothenar on SP w/fingers crossing spine
-LOD: P-A/L-M (Lower the thoracolumbar section or place patients down arm cephlad to induce LF)
Side Posture Digital Spinous Kick Pull
-Used w/: Lumbar Rotation Restriction (MP posterior)
-DP: Square stance on side of dysfunction & contact their knee with your knee/distal tibia
-CH: Fingertips of 2nd, 3rd and 4th digits hook the downside of the SP
-LOD: L-M, to induce axial rotation with quick extension (kick) of contact leg
Side Posture Bilateral Digital Spinous Push, Pull
-Used w/: Lumbar counter-rotation restriction (MP posterior)
-DP: Square stance on side of dysfunction
-CH: Fingertips of 3rd and 4th digits of cephlad hand reach under patients up-side arm to contact lateral surface of higher SP (LOD: Pushes L-M)
-IH: Fingertips of caudal hand hook on the downside of lower SP (LOD: Pulls L-M)
