What are metes and bounds?
Description of property simply tracks a path from a logical starting place to each corner of the property. (Like farm land, towns and cities, or areas where precise definition is not required or is too expensive)
What are metes?
Boundary defined by the measurement of each straight run between the beginning and end points, plus an orientation or direction.
What is a bound?
More general boundary description such as along a certain watercourse, a stone wall, adjoining public road way, or an existing building.
What are older deeds meaured with?
Rods or poles instead of ft or meters.
How many feet are in a rod or pole?

What are the 6 different elements of a description?
Natural monuments, artificial monuments such as roads and marked or surveyed lines, adjacent tracts or boundaries, courses or directions, distances, and area or quantity.
