What are the two main ways of extracting metals from ores,
Electrolysis and smelting with carbon
What is electrolysis
It is extracting using electricity. You do this with potassium, sodium, calcium, magnesium and aluminium because carbon is less reactive than all of those.
What is smelting with carbon?
Carbon is used to get rif do the oxygen to leave the pure metal. This is used for zinc, iron, tin, lead, hydrogen and copper because carbon is more reactive than all of here metals.
What is panning for gold
Silver gold and platinum appear as chunks of metal in mines under ground.
What is an ore?
An ore is a rock that contains minerals and has certain amounts of metal oxides that can be extracted to become pure metal.
What is carbon?
Carbon is a non-metal black substance that likes to react with oxygen more than the substances below it.
How can we prevent climate change
Generating electricity from solar panels and other renewable resources instead of burning fossil fuels,
Using cars less,
Buying and wasting less,
