Q

What is Exergonic and Endergonic reactions?
What is the main difference between the two?
What are examples of both reactions?
What do they require?

A
  • Exergonic reaction releases energy to the surrounding environment which is stored within the bonds of chemicals.
-Endergonic reaction is the net input of energy. KEEP IN MIND The products(substances formed from the reaction) contain more energy than the reactants.
    -Cellular respiration- Exergonic
    -Photosynthesis and ATP Synthesis- Endergonic

Q

What is an example Endergonic reaction and explain it?

A

-An example of an endergonic reaction is the synthesis of ATP.
-The ADP and Pi (inorganic phosphate) go through the substrate level of phosphorylation
