what is the pathophysiology?
A
- manifestation of peripheral vascular disease
- atherosclerosis results in poor blood supply to mesenteric organs (lungs, colon and intestine)
- poor circulation of ischaemic vessels

what are the symptoms of chronic mesenteric ischaemia?
A
- severe post prandial stomach pain
- associated nausea, vomitting or diarrhea
- weight loss

A
- stop smoking
2. low cholesterol diet

- antiplatelet
- statin
- correct hpt, hyperlipidaemia and diabetes as well as possible

A
- angioplasty +/- stenting
