What is the advantage of using the Cambridge Calgary model for Hx taking?

A
  • Uses verbal and non-verbal cues to build up a rapport with pt. Enables good relationship with pt, and builds on trust and reassures pt.
  • By establishing pts concerns and using open ended questions pt will feel listened too and clinician can get optimal info.
  • By chunking and checking you can establish your information gathering and pt knowledge to establish an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan.
