How is a “Mental Disorder” defined?

A

Abnormal state of mind, characterised by delusion, disorders of mood, perception, volition, cognition of such degree that it - poss a serious danger to the health or safety of that person or others OR seriously deminishes the capacity of that person to take care of himself or herself

A

Duly Authorised Officer, a qualified nurse who specialise in mental health and receive further training on an ongoing basis

Any person over the age of 18 years, normally doctor or relatives. Not appropriate for police to apply
