Green (POL 650 - Fail to comply with regulations/rules) - Defective exhaust, tinted windscreen, one bald tyres
Pink (POL 555 - Unsafe to be driven on a road) - Unsafe, structural rust, illegal mods, 4 bald tyres
When can a green stickered car and pink stickered car be driven on a road again?
Green - Until new WOF has been obtained
Pink - Vehicle inspected by authorised vehicle inspection agent (who does not engage in repairing vehicles in business), owner is given approval to operate on a road and new WOF displayed
What does Section 116 of the Land Transport Act 1998 refer to?
The power of arrest. If you have GCTS a person has failed to comply with a direction given under Section 113 and Section 115 of the LTA 1998
What does Section 121 of the Land Transport Act 1998 refer to?
Power to take keys and forbid driving
RGTB a person is incapable of having proper control because of their physical/mental condition, has not completed a compulsory impairment test, failed a compulsory impairment test
Forbid a person to drive for a specified time
All keys to be surrendered
Render the vehicle immobile
Move or cause vehicle to be moved
EBA offenders forbidden for 12 hours
Direct a person to a specified place to rest
When can you arrest under Section 121 of the Land Transport Act 1998 refer to?
When they fail to comply with your direction OR attempt to do an act forbidden by Section 121
What does Section 118 of the Land Transport Act 1998 refer to?
Obtaining information from the owner or hirer of any vehicle to give, within 14 days, all information available to them which may lead to the identification and apprehension of the driver - if the driver is alleged to have committed any offence against any act.
If the vehicle was a fleeing driver - information has to be given immediately.
Person must be owner/hirer at the time of offence
Information must be within the means of the owner/hirers ability to supply
What does Section 119 of the Land Transport Act 1998 refer to?
Power to enter without warrant, any premises the person has entered to carry out EBT, when you have GCTS
- a person has failed to stop for flashing lights/siren AND
- committed/committing reckless/dangerous driving OR
- driving under the influence AND
- freshly pursuing that person

Power to seize a vehicle not exceeding 12 hours, if you have RGTB that it is in the interest of the publics safety
What does Section 123 of the Land Transport Act 1998 refer to?
Power to seize a vehicle for up to 10 days to
- Preserve evidence
- Carry out scientific examination
- Establish the cause of a serious traffic accident
If you have RGTB the vehicle has been involved in a serious traffic accident/hit and run OR driver failed to stop in accordance with Section 114
What does Section 90 of the Land Transport Act 1998 refer to?
Suspension of license from driving for 90 days/3 months if person has accumulated 100 or more demerits in 2 years
