Q

menstrual cycle steps

A
  1. FSH stimulates follicle maturation and ovarian production of estrogen
  2. higher levels of estrogen cause uterus lining to thicken and for pitutary gland to stop FSH production and intiate LH production
  3. LH stimulates release of mature egg on day `4. The follicle remains develop into a ‘corpus leteium’ which secretes progesterone
  4. progestrone maintatins lining of uterus and inhibits FSh and LH production
  5. when progesteron levels fall, th elining breaks down, which allows FSH production to restart
