A

If the safe conduct of flight is impacted:

  1. AP/FD & A/THR………OFF
  2. PITCH/THRUST
    • Below THR RED ALT…….15°/TOGA
    • Above THR RED ALT and below FL 100….10°/CL
    • Above THR RED ALT and above FL 100…..5°/CL
  3. FLAPS…….MAINTAIN CURRENT CONFIG unless FULL then select FLAPS 3 and MAINTAIN
  4. SPEEDBRAKES….CHECK RETRACTED
  5. L/G…….UP

Engine Failure in Cruise

(per APD this is a Captain Memory Item)

A

As soon as the engine failure is recognized:

  • Thrust levers - MCT
  • Disconntect A/THR
  • ECAM Actions
  • Determine EO LRC Altitude
  • Notify ATC

When ready to descend:

  • Select SPEED and Pull
  • Select EO LRC Altitude and Pull OPEN DES

  3. FLIGHT PATH….RECOVER SMOOTHLY
  • If in clean configuration and below 20,000 feet:
    1. FLAP 1…….SELECT

Abnormal V Alpha Prot (OEB)

(Editors note: Not a required memory item, but a damn good idea considering the consequences and time to react)

A

At any time, with a speed above VLS if the aircraft goes into a continuous nose down pitch rate that connot be stopped with backward sidestick IMMEDIATELY APPLY:

  • One ADR __________ Keep On
  • Two ADRs __________ Turn Off

Same actions apply to Alpha Max covering Alpha Prot when in stable flight or Alpha Prot rapidly moves more than 30kts during manuvering with the AP on and speedbrakes retracted.
