Memory Items Flashcards
Automatic Unlock
FLT DK DOOR lock selector- Rotate to DENY and hold for 1 second
Cabin Altitude or Rapid Depressurisation
Don Oxygen Masks
Establish crew communications
(FREIGHTER: If occupants in main cargo compartment or lavatory- Main Cargo Horn/Alert switch PUSH
Ensure all occupants return to flight deck)
Check Cabin Alt and rate
(PAX: If cabin altitude is uncontrollable:
PASS OXY switch- Push and hold for 1 second)
Emergency Descent- Initiate
Thrust Levers- Idle
Speedbrake- up
If structural damage IS NOT suspected:
Target speed- VMO/MMO
If structural damage IS suspected:
Target speed- current IAS or less
Limit airspeed and avoid high maneuvering loads
(JA605F: Speedbrakes may autostow to 50% if airspeed exceeds 320kts. Do not override autostow unless airspeed is less than 315kts)
Transponder- 7700
Descent to the lowest safe alt or 10,000ft, whichever is higher.
Aborted Engine Start
Fuel control switch (affected side)- Cutoff
Dual Engine Failure
Engine start selectors (both)- FLT
Thrust levers- IDLE
Fuel control switches (both)- CUTOFF then RUN
If engine appears stalled or EGT approaches the maximum EGT limit (960deg) of the standby engine indicator:
Repeat above step as needed
Engine Limit or Surge or Stall
A/T Arm switch- OFF
Until engine indications stay within limits or the thrust lever is at idle: Thrust lever (affected side)- Confirm, Retard
Engine Fire or Engine Severe Damage or Separation
A/T Arm switch- OFF
Thrust lever (affected side)- Confirm, Idle
Fuel Control Switch (affected side)- Confirm, Cutoff
Engine Fire Switch (affected side)- Rotate to the stop and hold for 1 second
If after 30 seconds the engine fire warning light stays illuminated:
Engine Fire Switch (affected side)- rotate to the other stop and hold for 1 second
Unscheduled Stab Trim
Stab Trim Cut out switches (both)- CUT OUT
Airspeed Unreliable
Autopilot disengage switch- Push to disengage
A/T Arm switch- OFF
F/D Switches (both)- OFF
Set the following gear up pitch attitude and thrust:
Flaps Extended- 10deg and 80% N1
Flaps Up- 4deg and 75% N1
GPWS PULL UP warning
Disengage Autopilot
Disconnect Autothrottle
Aggressively apply maximum thrust
Simultaneously roll wings level and rotate to an initial pitch attitude of 20deg
Speedbrake DOWN
If terrain remains a threat, continue rotation to PLI, stick shaker, or initial buffett.
Do not change configuration until terrain separation is assured.
Monitor radio altimeter for sustained or increasing terrain separation.
When clear of terrain, slowly decrease pitch attitude and accelerate.
Nose High Recovery
Recognise and confirm
Disengage autopilot and disconnect autothrottle
Apply as much full nose down elevator (trim if necessary)
Reduce thrust
Roll to obtain a nose down pitch rate
Complete the recovery:
- when approaching the horizon, roll wings level
- check airspeed and adjust thrust
- establish pitch attitude
Nose Low Recovery
Recognise and confirm
Disengage autopilot, disconnect autothrottle
Recover from stall if required
Roll in the shortest direction to wings level (unload and roll if bank is more than 90deg)
Recover to level flight
- apply nose up elevator (trim if required)
- adjust thrust and drag as required
Windshear Escape
MANUAL FLIGHT Disengage autopilot Push either GA switch Aggressively apply maximum thrust Disconnect autothrottle Simultaneously roll wings level and rotate to an initial pitch attitude of 15deg Speedbrake DOWN Follow flight director GA guidance (if available)
AUTOMATIC FLIGHT Press either GA switch Verify GA mode annunciation Verify thrust advances to GA power Speedbrake DOWN Monitor system performance
MANUAL or AUTOMATIC FLIGHT
Do not change configuration until windshear is no longer a factor
Monitor VS and Altitude
Do not attempt to regain lost airspeed until windshear is no longer a factor
Windshear ‘unacceptable flight path deviations’
Below 1000ft, in excess of any of the following:
15kts IAS VS 500fpm 5deg Pitch attitude 1 dot GS displacement Unusual thrust lever position for a significant period of time
