Q

TCAS WARNING (RA)

A

If AP TCAS mode is available:

All RA, except CLIMB RA during approach in conf3 or full:

If AP off…. Follow FD orders (AP can be engaged)
Vertical Speed…. Monitor

CLIMB RA on approach in conf3 or full:

Go around…. Perform (TCAS mode disengages, follow SRS)
Vertical Speed…. Monitor (stay out of Red, respect Stall/GPWS/Windshear warnings)

ATC…. Notify

When clear of conflict aural alert sounds:

AP TCAS mode disengages

AP/FD…. Follow/monitor
ATC…. Notify
Lateral/vertical guidance…. Adjust

Speed…. Adjust

If AP TCAS mode not available:

All RA, except CLIMB RA on approach in conf 3 or full:

AP…. Off
FD…. Off

Vertical Speed…. Adjust or maintain

When clear of conflict aural alert sounds:

Q

Windshear Warning - Reactive Windshear

A

PFD displays a red WINDSHEAR message and aural alert of Windshear 3 times.

Flightcrew might also suspect Windshear (below 1000ft):

15 knots indicated airspeed
500fpm vertical speed
5 degrees pitch
1 dot displacement from glideslope
Unusual thrust levels for an extended period of time

Actions:

Before takeoff:

If before V1…. Reject takeoff if sufficient runway available

After V1:

Thrust levers…. TOGA
Reaching VR…. Rotate
SRS orders…. Follow (17.5 degrees if no FD, fully back if required)

On approach, initial climb or landing:

Thrust levers at TOGA… set or confirm
AP (if engaged)…. Keep on
SRS orders…. Follow

Do not change configuration until out of Windshear,
Closely monitor flight path and speed,
Recover smoothly to normal climb out of Windshear
