Aborted engine start
A
Conditions:
- N1 or N2 does not increase/increases very slowly after EGT increases
- No oil pressure by the time engine is stable at idle
- No EGT rise by 15 seconds after start lever idle
- EGT quickly nears or exceeds start limit
Start lever CUTOFF

Engine limit or surge or stall
A
Autothrottle DISENGAGE Thrust lever (affected engine).. Confirm.. Retard until indications within limits or thrust lever closed

Loss of thrust on both engines
A
Start switches FLT Start levers CUTOFF When EGT decreases.. start levers IDLE If EGT reaches red line or no increase in 30 seconds.. Start lever (affected engine).. confirm.. CUTOFF, then IDLE Repeat as needed

APU fire

APU Fire Switch.. confirm.. pull and rotate
APU switch OFF

Engine fire/severe damage/separation

Autothrottle DISENGAGE Thrust lever.. confirm.. CLOSE Engine start lever.. confirm.. CUTOFF Engine fire switch.. confirm.. PULL If engine fire switch or overheat is illuminated.. Rotate and hold for 1 second

Engine overheat

Autothrottle DISENGAGE
Thrust lever.. confirm.. CLOSE
If Overheat stays illuminated:

Runaway stabiliser
A
Control column HOLD FIRMLY Autopilot DISENGAGE Autothrottle DISENGAGE Control column and thrust levers CONTROL PITCH, ALT, SPEED Main elec stab trim REDUCE CC FORCES If runaway stops after autopilot disengaged: do not re-engage AP or AT If runaway continues: Stab trim cutout switches CUTOUT if runaway continues: Trim wheel- HOLD
