Memory Items Flashcards
EGPWS Warning
Reference: COM Book 2 EGPWS Warnings procedure. Reference: COM Book 2 EGPWS Cautions procedure.
“PULL UP TOGA”
- AP ….. OFF
- PITCH ….. PULL UP
- pull to full backstick and maintain that position - THRUST LEVERS ….. TOGA
- SPEED BRAKES lever ….. CHECK RETRACTED
- BANK ….. WINGS LEVEL OR ADJUST
- Aircraft obtain the best climb performance when the wings are as level as possible. The Flight Crew can adjust bank while climbing, provided that turning is the safest action. - DO NOT CHANGE CONFIGURATION (SLATS/FLAPS, GEAR) UNTIL CLEAR OF OBSTACLE.
Emergency Descent
Reference: COM 3.80.18 - “Emergency Descent” procedure.
“EMERGENCY DESCENT”
1. CREW OXY MASKS ..... USE • SIGNS ..... ON • EMER DESCENT ..... INITIATE • THR LEVERS (if A/THR not engaged) ..... IDLE • SPD BRK ..... FULL

Loss of Braking
Reference: COM 3.32 - “Loss of Braking” procedure.
“LOSS OF BRAKING”
- REV ….. MAX
- BRAKE PEDALS ….. RELEASE
- A/SKID OFF ….. ORDER
- A/SKID & N/W STRG ….. OFF
- BRAKE PEDALS ….. PRESS
- MAX BRK PR ….. 1,000 PSI
If still no braking: - PARK BRAKE ….. USE
If no braking:
1. REV ….. MAX
- If needed, the Flight Crew may keep maximum reverse thrust until full aircraft stop.
2. BRAKE PEDALS ….. RELEASE
- When the Flight Crew sets the A/SKID & N/W STRG sw to OFF, the control of the braking system is transferred from the BSCU (Brake and Steering Control Unit) to the ABCU (Alternate Braking Control Unit), and the alternate braking mode is activated.
Consequently the PF should release the brake pedals before the PM selects the A/SKID off. This action avoids brutal braking application.
3. A/SKID OFF ….. ORDER
- The PF orders the PM to set the A/SKID & N/W STRG sw to OFF.
4. A/SKID & N/W STRG ….. OFF
5. BRAKE PEDALS ….. PRESS
6. MAX BRK PR ….. 1,000 PSI
- The ABCU automatically limits the brake pressure to 1 000 PSI. Monitor brake pressure on the BRAKES PRESS indicator.
If still no braking:
- PARK BRAKE ….. USE
- Use short successive parking brake applications to stop the aircraft.
TCAS RA
Reference: COM 3.34 - “TCAS Warnings” procedure.
“TCAS, I HAVE CONTROL”
- AP (if engaged) ….. OFF
- BOTH FDs ….. OFF
- Respond promptly and smoothly to a RA by adjusting or maintaining the pitch, as required, to reach the green area and/ or avoid the red area of the vertical speed scale.
- Avoid excessive maneuvers while aiming to keep the vertical speed just outside the red area of the VSI, and within the green area. If necessary, use the full speed range between Vα max and VMAX.
- ATC ….. NOTIFY
Note: Respect stall, GPWS, or windshear warning.
Unreliable Speed Indication/ADR Check Procedure
Reference: COM 3.34 - “Unreliable Speed Indication/ADR Check Procedure” procedure.
“UNRELIABLE SPEED”
If the safe conduct of the flight is impacted:
1. AP ….. OFF
2. A/THR ….. OFF
3. FD ….. OFF
4. PITCH/THRUST:
- Below THRUST RED ALT - 15° / TOGA
- Above THRUST RED ALT and Below FL 100 - 10°/CLB
- Above THRUST RED ALT and Above FL 100 - 5°/CLB
5.
- FLAPS (if CONF 0(1)(2)(3)) ….. MAINTAIN CURRENT CONF
- FLAPS (if CONF FULL) ….. SELECT CONF 3 AND MAINTAIN
6. SPEEDBRAKES ….. CHECK RETRACTED
7. L/G ….. UP
Note: When at or above MSA or circuit altitude, level off for troubleshooting.
