Q

Which researchers said we could remember how much in our short term memory?

A

According to Jacobs the capacity of short-term memory is 7±2 letters or numbers. But, according to Miller, the capacity of short-term memory is actually 7±2 chunks of information

Q

Support for the working memory model comes from three sources:

A

Firstly, case studies of patients like KF, who lost the ability to retain verbal information in short-term memory, but could still retain visual information in short-term memory.

Next, dual-task studies show that patients perform better when they have to do one visual task and one verbal task at the same time, than two visual tasks at the same time.

Finally, brain imaging studies indicate that different parts of the brain are active during verbal short-term memory tasks and visual short-term memory tasks.
