Q

How did Jacobs investigate the capacity of STM?

A

-Lab experiment
-Digit-span test
-presented with list of digits/letters followed by serial recall (pace kept 1/2 second by metronome)
-List increased by 1 digit until p’s constantly failed to recall it
-Longest sequence length that was correctly recalled 50% of the time was taken as their STM span
