Non-transfer or local/native ; only want an associate’s degree (which is half of a bachelors) (associate’s is highest degree available at CCs)
What is an associate’s degree?
Highest degree available at a CC ; Half of a bachelors
What would a Plan B GE be used for?
CSU
What would a Plan C GE be used for?
CSUs and UCs (Good default for those who are kind of on the fence for where they want to transfer to)
What GE Plan is best for students who are kind of on the fence for where they want to transfer to?
Plan C because it covers both CSUs and UCs
What is an articulation agreement?
(Document) Between two colleges that lays out a transfer plan that both programs offer. It ensures the student that the specific classes completed from this agreement will make them eligible to transfer

How would you describe the curriculum at UCs?
Theory based = goal is to graduate program for research (research institution)
How would you describe the curriculum at CSUs?
Goal is to get jobs (very hands-on)

Can’t forget pre-reqs! There can be pre-reqs for classes that are not shown

Use electives to add up to 60
When GE and major prep doesn’t add up to equal 60 units, what kind of electives should you recommend?
Can try classes that will get a certificate of some kind (2 birds, 1 stone) or similar classes to what another school requires
What should you do when a student was in my situation, taking classes in random areas, but has a lot of units?
Find a major with low major prep units so that those random electives can add up to 60 units

Public Health (Not at MC?)
What is C-ID stand for?
Course Identification - Numbering system aimed at helping students and faculty identify courses across different institutions
