o Body substances isolation- use of PPE when risk of bodily fluid exposure o Done for every patient o Hand hygiene before/after each pt o Use and dispose of sharps safetly o Clean all shared pt equipment o Use of aseptic technique

Gown and gloves
Hand hygiene
Diseases: Noro, Rotavirus, C. Diff, Draining wounds, MDROs

Private room
Surgical mask if within 3 ft of pt
Pt must wear mask when leaving room
Diseases: Influenza, meningitis, mumps, Rubella, Pneumonia, Sepsis, Pertussis

Airborne Precautions
A
Single, negative pressure room 6-12 air exchanges/hr Wear respirator or mask Mask must be worn by pt when leaving room Disease: Measles, chickenpox, TB
