- Adsorbs to poisons in the stomach.
- Prevents the absorption by the body.
- Enhances their elimination by the body.
Activated Charcoal: Indication
- Ingested poison by mouth within the last 60 minutes.

MDI/SVN: Contraindication
- Patient is not responsive enough to use MDI or SVN
- Not prescribed to patient
- Patient has already taken the max dosage prior to arrival.
Nitroglycerin: Dose
0.4 mg

Sublingual
Nitroglycerin: Action
- Dilates blood vessels
- Decreases workload of the heart
- Decreases cardiac oxygen demand
Nitroglycerin: Indication
- Chest pain/discomfort of suspected cardiac origin
2. Approval from medical direction
Nitroglycerin: Contraindication
- SBP < 90mmHg
- SBP drops greater than 30 mmHg from baseline
- HR < 50 or > 100bpm
- Suspected Head Injury
- Patient is an infant or child
- Patient has taken 3 doses prior to arrival
- Patient has taken Erectile Dysfunction (ED) medication in the past 24-48 hours

Competitively binds with opioid receptors and blocks the ability of the drug to bind with the receptor site.

- Suspected or known opioid intoxication who have CNS depression with respiratory depression, hypotension, or bradycardia.
