-check the order

PREVENTS ERROR
-right drug
-right dose
-right route
-right time (normally given 1 hour before to 1 hour after)
-right pt (pt should verify or have someone else)
-right documentation

-neurological concerns (can they refuse or swallow)
-current condition (appropriate to give med)
