what is the carrel-dakin method?
A
it helped stop infection by continually treating the woudn. reducing the number of amputations.

A
it helped fractured/broken bones heal by pulling the leg lengthways, stopping the bones grinding on eachother.

A
they rapidly located bullets and shrapnel or any other invisible damage, enabling doctors to remove them.

what are blood transfusions?
A
they helped men dying from bloodloss. they prevented the blood from clotting with citrate glucose and stored the blood in safe places.

what is deeper surgery?
A
it made sure shrapnel was removed and that all the dead tissue was removed. they didn’t sew up wounds immediately, reducing the chance of tetanus and gas gangrene.
