Prego lady who is itchy. Says her sister had the same thing when she was Prego. No rash seen and dark urine. Dx? Tx?

A

Intrahepatic cholestasis of prego! Usually worse at night and on feet and hands too. Increased risk of preterm birth.

Tx: ursodeoxycholic acid

why do you get dilation of R renal pelvis > L in prego?

A

o Dilation R > L due to Right Ovarian Artery & Vein lying on top of R ureter increasing dilation.
o On Left Ovarian A&V go into L Renal A&V.
