mediastinum Flashcards
which system does the right heart contribute to?
pulmonary circulation, blood goes from right ventricle through semilunar valve to pulmonary trunk (lungs pick up CO2 and add O2)
what system does the left heart contribute to?
left ventricle pumps blood through semilunar aortic valve to send throughout body (systemic)
what is the name of the cuspid valve on the right side?
tricuspid
what is the analogy of semilunar valves?
pocket cups ( filld with blood form outside and flatten as ventricles push blood out
function of the sinoatrial node?
pace maker of the heart, depolarizes most rapidly
function of the (AV) atrioventricular node?
triggered as depolarization spreads through atria, will spread down bundle of his, terminate at apex of heart ( purknije fibers)
what creates the lub sound?
atrioventricular valves snap shuts (bicuspid)
what creates the dub sound?
semilunar valves snap shut
where can the AV valve be ausculated?
right second intercostal space
where can the pulmonary valve be heard?
left second intercostal space, (upper left sternum)
where can the tricuspid valve be heard?
left 4.5th lower sternal
mitral valve ausculatation?
left 5th, midclavicular line
erbs pt ausculatation?
left 3rd intercostal space
what does the p wave correlate to?
atrial depolarization
what does the PR segment correlate to?
time it takes for AV valve to send depolarization to ventricules
