Adductor Longus (Origin, Insertion, Innervation, Action)
Origin: Body of pubis, inferior to pubic crest
Insertion: Middle 1/3 of linea aspera
Innervation: Obturator nerve
Action: Adducts thigh
Adductor Brevis (Origin, Insertion-2, Innervation, Action)
Origin: Body and inferior ramus of pubis
Insertion:
- Pectineal line
- Proximal part of linea aspera
Innervation: Obturator Nerve
Action: Adducts thigh (also flexes to some extent)
Adductor Magnus (Adductor Part) (Origin, Insertion-3, Innervation, Action-2)
Origin: Inferior pubic ramus
Insertion:
- Gluteal tuberosity
- Linea aspera
- Medial supracondylar line
Innervation: Obturator nerve
Action:
- Adducts thigh
- Flexes thigh
Adductor Magnus (Hamstring Part) (Origin, Insertion, Innervation, Action-2)
Origin: Ischial tuberosity
Insertion: Adductor tubercle
Innervation: Tibial part of sciatic nerve
Action:
- Adduct thigh
- Extends thigh
Gracilis (Origin, Insertion, Innervation, Action-3)
Origin: Body and inferior ramus of pubis
Insertion: Superior part of medial surface of tibia
Innervation: Obturator nerve
Action:
- Adducts thigh
- Flexes leg
- Helps rotate leg medially
Obturator externus
Origin: Margins of obturator foramen and obturator membrane
Insertion: Trochanteric fossa of femur
Innervation: Obturator nerve
Action:
- Laterally rotates thigh
- Steadies head of femur in acetabulum
