Berlusconi had controlling share in the biggest TV broadcast in Italy. He used 3 TV channels to launch a huge election advertising campaign. He had no political experience but served as prime minister of Italy four times.(1994 election)
How does Berlusconi provide evidence against the Marxist view?
In 2015 he was convicted of tax fraud and banned from the public office for six years. This suggests that there are still some legal limit on the power and influence of media owners.
