how does the media help with MP constituency links
most MPs have their own websites and social media which allow for direct communication with the electorate. now they do not have to use newspapers etc exemplified by alastair campbell (tony blair’s press secretary in 1994)
is the media good for scrutiny? yes and no
+they have freedom to scrutinise the exec
-they are partisan (one-sided) and can present events with excessive focus on personalities for example.eg tony blair
-most people who choose newspapers and read social media articles only click on the post that aligns with their views
