Look up diagnostic terms in Alphabetic Index, then verify code number in Tabular List.
What is the procedure for using the most current HCPCS level II coding system?
Never code directly from the index; always review appropriate code section, if service or procedure cannot be located in HCPCS level II index, review the table of contents to locate section, then review the tabular list.
