Hypoxia

A

Hypoxic - occurs when not enough O2 in the air or when decreasing atmospheric pressure prevent diffusion of O2

Hypemic - reduction in bloods O2 carrying capacity

Stagnant - bloods Ow carrying capacity is adequate but circulation is inadequate

Histotoxic - interference with the use of O2 by body tissues

A

Indifferent 0 - 10 - decreased night vision at 4,000 MSL

Compensatory 10 - 15 - drowsiness, poor judgment

Disturbance 15 - 20 impaired flight control

Critical - 20 circulatory and central nervous system failure

A

Acute - inattention, errors in timing, neglect secondary tasks - resolved one night of rest

Chronic - insomnia, depressed mood, irritability - extended amount of acute fatigue

Motivational Exhaustion - chronic fatigue untreated for long time individual eventually shuts down
