Q

Mecanism of action Cardiotonic drugs 1

A

Inhibition of Na+/K+ ATPase results in a small increase in intracellular sodium. The increased sodium alters the driving force for sodium-calcium exchange by the exchanger, NCX (Sodium-calcium exchanger), so that less calcium is removed from the cell.

Q

Mechanism Of Action of Cardiac glycosides(digoxin)

A

act by inhibiting sodium and potassium ATP and then making more calcium available to activate contracted proteins. & Cardiac contractility and cardiac output are increased.
